i don't quite understand the hoo-hah surrounding the zizou headbutt. so the man lost it. we all lose it sometimes. what's the big deal? just because he lost it in front of a billion spectators?
i don't understand why the gesture is being proclaimed as the ultimate shame to football. if the tabloids are anything to go by, and materazzi did insult zidane's family, shouldn't it be even more praise-worthy that, with the world's greatest honour staring at him in the face, he doesn't abandon his family? how many people would gladly sell their mothers for the smallest recognition? why are we condemning the upholding of family values? zidane = ideal husband (minus the fact that he is already married).
and the headbutt is about to inspire youths of our generation to live life with a penchant for violence? that little act is going to make them want to set out to the rural regions and raze whole villages to the ground? gee i'm suprised the world is still standing then. with the blood and gore that has crept into our technological world, infecting our ipods and tvs and computers, planet earth should have been reduced to a ball of nuclear waste.
let's put some perspective here please.
i guess famous people have it tougher. everything they do is under the close scrutiny of the critical human eye, and the sadist in us can't wait to jump on them for the slightest unmodel-like behavior.
give them a break. we're all humans.
